SmartRoot™ manufactures a biofertilizer containing living cells of mycorrhizal fungi, with ability to mobilize nutrients and water for plant use through biological processes to increase crop yields, improve crop resistance to water stress and harmful pathogens. SmartRoot™ products are for use in a wide range of crops production systems and crop varieties; Home gardening, Nurseries subsistence/smallholder farming and organic farming.
We were hired to develop a website that would enhance the Smart Root digital brand image. The company had no existing website, and the aim was to make this website attractive, responsive and showcase the products in a clean and easily navigable way. In addition to user experience and user interface, it was meant to generate quality leads looking into catering services.
When doing branding, colours play a huge role. Since Smart Root operates within the agricultural sector, the colours had to represent nature, hence the usage of green and white on the call-to-action button. The green stands out and triggers clicks. The messaging on the homepage sliders also play a huge role in branding, it has to explain what the business can do for you with a few words.
We used a dash of pink in the background in some titles, because pink is also a a friendly and welcoming colour. In order to generate leads quicker, we put an “inquire” button right at the top in line with the menu, and made it sticky as you scroll so as to remind users that they should inquire now.
